Elles percent ensuite un trou dans chaque graine à l'aide d'un fil de fer chauffé dans le feu, puis placent chaque graines sur un bâton dans le sable et les peignent avec jusqu'à six couleurs différentes, attendant patiemment que chaque couleur sèche avant de passer à la suivante. La dernière étape consiste à enfiler les perles sur un élastique ou un support.
